Earthquake in Nepal
A 7.9 earthquake hit around noon time today in between the cities of Kathmandu and Pokhara, Nepal. Over 1,000 are reported dead already and the death toll climbing by the minute. Avalanches at Everest have already killed 8 at Base Camp. We are huddled around our TV watching the horrible damage in the cities we were traveling through six days ago. It’s 6pm now and getting dark and is raining, not good for rescue operations. We are currently in neighboring Bhutan where the quake was felt but all is well here. Our prayers go out to all those suffering in Nepal.
I think it’s Hellen Keller who said, “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.” Well, you’ve got that covered — just stay safe.
On a much lighter note, Red Sox gave up 18 runs to the Orioles last night. It’s going to be a long summer, but not for you.
We thought of you the minute we heard about the earthquake. Thank God you are all safe. Sad to hear about the over4000 that did not survive. Safe travels.
Hi Navyn, Thank Godness you and your family got out of Nepal, and are all safe. We will be praying for those who are still in harms way , and for a safe trip during the rest of your journey.
Thank God that you are safe.ours prayers for Nepal who welcomed you.

So relieved to hear you all are alright. The first thing I did this morning when I heard about the quake and the aftershocks was to log onto your site hoping to get news of you.
I so much enjoy hearing of all your adventures. Thanks for sharing them.
Paul,
Although the whole situation is terrible and sad; I’m happy and relieve to know that you and your family is safe; take care and safe travels.
Thank you Navyn for having posted your full itinerary on your blog. I had goosebumps reading the news of the earthquake this morning and was thankful, after a couple of minutes’ searching, to know that you all were now in Bhutan, not Nepal. It’s so very sad, though. I can’t stop thinking of Halle’s report on the living goddess and wondering if she survived the earthquake. Much love to you all from the Quigleys
Thank you for letting us know that you are safe. We will hold all of Nepal in our prayers on Sunday morning.
Empathy and Gratitude for the lives we are touched by and those we get to touch. Take good care of each other .
I am so glad you wrote and are safe. Devastating. And to think you were there days ago. Hugs to you all and prayers for Nepal.

So thankful that you are safe!
Thank you for spinning the prayer wheels for me and planting the prayer flag at Everest. I hope that’s not what caused the quake!
PS – I spun many prayer wheels when I was in Tibet and gave you a framed photo as a wedding gift of a beautiful wheel that I prayed on for you for blessings on your wedding. I felt a full circle moment. Many blessings are upon you xo
So glad you all are safe, we will pray for those in Kathmandu and Pokhara. xoxo
I am relieved to hear that you are not in harm’s way. Very sorry to hear about the earthquake and the resulting plight for the lovely people of Nepal. Our prayers are with them, too.

Oh my! This just took my breath away. Of course I am relieved that you are safe, but my heart aches for the people of Nepal. A sad reminder of the fragility of life and why you are living life to the fullest on this adventure. Prayer flags for all.
