Life With Mucho Chicas

DSC_1228

(Paul) What is it like traveling with 5 ladies? So far it has been great.

When we check into the airport and handover the passports, most times I get chuckles and one woman looked at my beautiful ladies and said, MUCHO CHICAS.

Patagonia, Antartica and the Atacama desert have all exceeded some pretty high expectations. The scenery is indescribable and the pictures just don’t do it justice. Navyn’s pictures are awesome but how does that capture icebergs bigger than downtown Providence? It really is mind blowing.

I have been so proud of my girls. No complaining, no fighting and lots of smiles, despite a demanding pace. Watching all 5 do the Polar Plunge without hesitation was a highlight. Jolie was the youngest ever on our ship and got the loudest ovation from the 113 passengers. Even Zara who is cold in Nantucket ocean water said, “dad can I do it again?”. I’m just glad I did not get a heart attack but was quite happy with the shot of Vodka they handed you when you got out of the water.

Today is day 20 and we are going to look at the stars tonight in the Atacama desert, the driest place on earth. Scientists from the university of Edinburgh performed tests and found out that it has not rained in 20 million years in its driest spot.

O.K. You’ve had your fun-an extended vacation-and now it’s time to come home. I thought I had you with the puking on the boat, but damn that quietness on Navyn’s kayak ride it sucked her right back in! All is fine here on Nayatt Road. I have some pictures that I’ll send to Navyn’s email. It’s just very quiet here after school……maybe you could just drop in for a weekend….I’m sure the flight isn’t that long xo By the way Paul you do realize you had your beard while the pats were winning and have just shaved it before the big game-I hope their winning wasn’t all about the beard….we’ll have to see:) jinx

Man, if only they had vodka when I was in Antarctica. That would have changed everything.

    Yours in Earnest,

    Shack.

No fighting?!? That’s it – we’re headed to Antartica!
We love your posts and pictures and so glad it’s all as amazing as hoped. Sending tons of love from the slopes of Waterville Valley where I am hauling 10 pairs of skis solo, because someone is in Alabama. 🙂

Good to hear what Paul would do for a shot of vodka!!!
If the pictures can’t do justice, Paul’s write up fills in the gaps quite nicely.
I am very happy that all six of you are having an adventure.
Four Chicas and the man look great in the picture!!!
